Chapter 2 - The Valedictorian

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, heavy tension completely electrified the graduation hall.
The mocking laughter from the relatives in the row behind them violently stopped in a fraction of a second. Every single face in the audience turned toward the brightly lit stage.
"The highest-ranked student, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Master’s Degree in Forensic Accounting," the Principal announced proudly, "is Olga Vance."
The entire auditorium erupted into deafening, thunderous applause.
Jack physically stopped breathing. The warm auditorium lighting suddenly felt incredibly freezing. His faint, expectant smile completely vanished, violently replaced by sheer, breathless shock. Abigail’s jaw literally unhinged, her pearl earrings shaking as she stared at the stage in absolute disbelief.
Blake, the golden-child younger brother, completely lost his smug smirk. His tailored gray suit suddenly looked entirely pathetic as he stared at his sister.
To understand the absolute, unhinged cruelty of this family, one had to look at the last ten years of Olga's life. Jack and Abigail had actively treated Olga like absolute garbage, aggressively funneling all of the family’s immense wealth, business connections, and affection directly into Blake. They had explicitly refused to pay a single dime for Olga's education, forcing her to work three grueling jobs just to survive while they handed Blake a six-figure executive position at Jack's investment firm.
They genuinely believed Olga was a failure who was graduating at the bottom of a useless program.
Olga didn't look at her horrified parents.
She stood up slowly, her black graduation gown flowing elegantly around her. She picked up the heavy navy binder, holding it firmly against her chest, and walked with absolute, undeniable authority toward the stage.

"This has to be a mistake," Jack hissed aggressively to his wife, his face turning violently red. "She's practically a high school dropout!"
👉 Olga stepped up to the standing microphone, preparing to completely shatter her father's arrogant illusion.
