Chapter 3 - The Theatrical Tears

The shocked relatives began whispering furiously among themselves, completely horrified by the sudden domestic violence unfolding in the grand foyer.

Sensing the crowd's judgment shifting toward her son, Evelyn immediately pivoted her strategy.

The older woman dramatically clutched her pearl necklace. She reached into the pocket of her tweed jacket and pulled out a pristine white silk handkerchief. With a theatrical, agonizing gasp, she pressed the silk cloth directly against her perfectly dry eyes, forcing her shoulders to shake as if she were completely traumatized.

"She's attacking me in my own home!" Evelyn cried out, her voice cracking with fake, hysterical sobbing. "First she ruins my dress, and then she screams at me! Daniel was just defending his mother! She's out of control!"

Tight shot on Evelyn’s face. She lowered the white handkerchief just an inch. Hidden from the view of the relatives and her son, she locked eyes directly with Emily.

The fake tears instantly vanished. Evelyn dropped the cloth slightly to reveal a cruel, victorious, utterly sociopathic smirk. She knew exactly what she was doing. She wanted Emily thrown out onto the street with absolutely nothing, leaving Daniel completely free to marry the wealthy heiress his mother had already picked out for him.

👉 Daniel believed every single lie his mother spun, and his next demand was going to push Emily past the point of no return.
