Chapter 7 - The Master of the House

Emily reached into her taupe designer handbag and pulled out a heavy, notarized legal document, bearing the official seal of the state.
She didn't hand it to him. She simply held it up in the warm light of the crystal chandelier.
"For court," Emily replied, her voice deadly quiet, carrying a cinematic, absolute power that paralyzed every single person in the grand foyer.
Daniel stared at the document. He recognized the heavy watermark. It was a property deed.
"When we got married, Daniel, you made me sign a strict pre-nup to protect your family's assets," Emily explained smoothly, a brilliant, terrifying intelligence shining in her eyes. "But you were so busy hiding your money, you never bothered to run a background check on me. You assumed I was broke because I didn't brag about my wealth."
The color completely drained from Evelyn’s face. The mother-in-law stumbled backward, clutching her pearl necklace in sheer, suffocating horror.
"I am the sole heiress to the Sterling real estate empire," Emily whispered, stepping closer to her husband until he was forced to step back. "I bought this mansion through a blind trust two years ago when your company was secretly facing bankruptcy. You don't own the walls around you, Daniel."
Daniel stopped breathing. His knees visibly buckled in his sharp navy suit.
Emily offered him one final, devastatingly cold smile.

"Because I own this house," Emily declared. "And you and your mother have exactly ten minutes to pack your cheap clothes and get off my property."
If you were Emily, would you have waited three years to reveal your secret billionaire status, or would you have told him the truth before the wedding?
