Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Bond

The violent, chaotic tension finally evaporated from the luxury mansion.

Victor immediately dismissed the shocked guests, demanding the house be completely cleared. He walked slowly out of the kitchen and into the grand foyer, where Lily was standing nervously near the bottom of the wooden staircase.

The terrifying mafia boss dropped immediately to his knees on the hard floor. He didn't care about his pride or his hardened reputation. He pulled his seven-year-old daughter into a desperate, bone-crushing embrace, burying his face into her blonde hair as he openly wept.

"I am so sorry, Lily," Victor choked out, his broad shoulders shaking with profound remorse. "I will never, ever let anyone hurt you again. I love you more than anything."

Lily wrapped her small arms tightly around her father's neck, the terrible burden of her fake tantrums finally, permanently lifted. "I love you too, Daddy."

Victor slowly looked up, his dark, tear-filled eyes locking onto Maya, who was standing quietly in the background with the maid.

"You didn't just clean up spilled milk," Victor said, his voice thick with absolute, undeniable respect. "You saved her life. And you saved mine."

Victor stood up, the immense power of his syndicate backing his words. "Maya, you are no longer a nanny. You are the Head of this Household. Your salary is quintupled, and you answer to no one but me."

Maya smiled warmly, tears of joy welling in her eyes. The toxic parasite was gone, the father and daughter were finally reunited, and the dark mansion was finally starting to heal into a home.

If you were Victor, would you have handed Cassandra over to the police for child abuse, or was throwing her into the alley with absolutely nothing the perfect justice?
