Chapter 2 - The Silent Defiance

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, humiliating tension instantly paralyzed the edge of the terrace.
A tight close-up captured Lucas’s face. Despite the biting public insult, his natural micro-expressions didn't show panic, anger, or submissiveness. His expression was tight, controlled, and deeply calm.
"I'll clean it," Lucas stated quietly, his deep voice carrying a steady, unshakeable dignity.
He didn't rush to stand up like a frightened servant. He simply reached down to pick up a large shard of the broken terracotta pot.
Beside him, a close-up captured Olivia. The young woman in the light blue dress refused to stand down. Her dark eyes flashed with raw, defiant anger as she looked directly up at her mother. She didn't care about the elite guests watching them; she hated her mother's cruel, classist arrogance.
Eleanor glared down at her daughter, her pearl necklace tightening against her throat as her toxic anger flared. She knew she was making a scene in front of the city's most powerful people, and she needed to fix her public image instantly.
A wide cinematic shot captured Eleanor shifting her expression in a split second. The cold, venomous glare vanished, replaced by a radiant, perfectly practiced, and utterly fake socialite smile as she turned toward the wealthy guests staring from the garden.

"Forgive the interruption, everyone," Eleanor called out smoothly, waving airily with a manufactured laugh.
👉 Olivia ignored her mother entirely, turning her attention back to the handsome gardener with a soft, lingering gaze.
