Chapter 5 - The Insolent Worker

"Excuse me?!" Eleanor scoffed, her eyes widening in utter disbelief as she looked up at the gardener. "Did a dirty, minimum-wage worker just give me instructions in my own home? I pay your wages! I can fire you before you even blink!"

"You actually can't," Lucas replied smoothly, his tone terrifyingly calm and composed.

He reached into the pocket of his overalls and pulled out a sleek, heavy leather folder embossed with a gold corporate seal. He didn't open it; he simply held it in his calloused hand, radiating an absolute, undeniable authority that completely clashed with his faded clothing.

Eleanor frowned, a sudden, cold knot forming in her stomach. Something about the young man's chilling composure felt entirely wrong.

"What is that ridiculous prop?" Eleanor demanded, her voice rising in nervous panic. "Security! Remove this insolent gardener from the premises immediately!"

Two burly estate security guards rushed over at her command, stepping onto the terrace. But the moment they reached Lucas, they didn't grab him.

They stopped dead in their tracks, straightened their posture, and respectfully bowed their heads to the man in the navy work shirt.

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing shock completely electrified the terrace. Eleanor physically staggered backward, her pearls clacking against her suit.

👉 Lucas opened the gold-embossed folder, preparing to drop a multi-billion-dollar legal guillotine.
