Chapter 6 - The Ironclad Evidence

Emily stopped dancing instantly, flawlessly releasing Grant from the tango frame.
Grant stumbled backward, breathing heavily, completely humiliated and entirely confused by his grandmother's sudden, terrified outburst.
"Grandma, what's wrong?" Grant demanded, trying to regain his composure. "She's just a maid!"
Emily didn't run away. She didn't look at Grant or Vanessa.
She walked slowly, confidently across the marble floor, stopping directly in front of the shaking, terrified matriarch.
"It's a beautiful house, Eleanor," Emily stated coldly, her voice echoing perfectly across the silent ballroom. "My grandfather always said the marble floors were his favorite part of the original design."
Eleanor hyperventilated, clutching her diamond brooch. "You have no right to be here! Guards! Throw this trespassing liar out!"
"I have every right to be here," Emily whispered lethally.
Emily reached into the pocket of her gray uniform. She didn't pull a weapon. She pulled out a sleek, encrypted flash drive.

"And I finally found the original, unaltered deed to the company in your hidden floor safe. Along with the original letters where you ordered the forgery."
