Chapter 8 - The Fiancée's Fall

"This is a mistake!" Grant shrieked like a feral coward, thrashing and kicking wildly as two massive federal agents violently grabbed his expensive black suit, slamming him against a marble pillar to cuff him.

Vanessa stood frozen in her expensive dress, completely paralyzed by the sheer violence of the raid.

She desperately tried to slip into the crowd of wealthy guests to escape the sinking ship, but Emily stepped directly into her path.

Emily didn't yell. She looked at the woman who had intentionally spilled wine on her uniform just ten minutes ago.

"The engagement is off, Vanessa," Emily stated smoothly, her voice carrying absolute, undeniable authority. "Because your billionaire fiancé is completely broke. And you are standing in my house."

Vanessa burst into hysterical tears, covering her face in pure, unadulterated humiliation as the wealthy guests she had spent years trying to impress recorded her total downfall on their phones.

The federal agents violently hauled the weeping, panicking Vanderbilts entirely out of the grand ballroom. Their desperate, pathetic cries faded into the distance, ending their reign of toxic greed, cruelty, and corporate theft forever.

The ballroom fell into a profound, heavy, and incredibly peaceful silence.
