Xavier didn't call the police. He knew Richard had dirty cops on his payroll to protect his offshore operations. If Xavier made a legal move, Richard would vanish with Sophia and Nathan before the ink on the warrant dried.
He had to destroy Richard from the inside out.
The next morning, Xavier orchestrated a massive, highly publicized corporate merger announcement. He intentionally leaked a fake piece of financial data suggesting his company was moving billions of dollars into a vulnerable offshore holding account.
It was a perfectly crafted piece of bait, designed exclusively for a greedy parasite.
Three days later, Richard fell for it.
Believing he had discovered the ultimate payday, Richard attempted to digitally siphon twenty million dollars from Xavier's fake holding account using his usual encrypted backdoor channels.
Xavier was sitting in his penthouse, watching the digital breach happen in real-time.
"Lock him in," Xavier ordered his elite cybersecurity team.
With a few keystrokes, Xavier’s team didn't just block the theft. They executed a massive counter-hack. They reversed the digital pipeline, instantly bypassing Richard’s firewalls and seizing absolute control of every single offshore account, shell company, and hidden asset Richard owned.
Within sixty seconds, Richard Vance was completely, irreversibly bankrupt.
Xavier stood up, adjusting his black suit jacket, his neck tattoos flexing as he checked his watch.
