Chapter 10 - The Promise

Close-up: The horrific, psychological nightmare was completely, permanently, and absolutely over.

Arthur completely ignored the hysterical, pathetic screaming of his younger brother and the desperate sobbing of the blonde woman as the federal agents violently slammed heavy steel handcuffs onto their wrists and aggressively dragged them out of the grand luxury mansion.

He didn't watch them leave. He didn't care about their complete, devastating public humiliation.

Arthur’s entire focus remained completely, exclusively fixed on the beautiful, innocent little girl resting safely in his arms. He held Lily incredibly protectively, his large hand gently stroking her damp, messy hair, soothing the frantic trembling of her small body.

His face was incredibly serious, deeply determined, and radiating the absolute, unbreakable authority of a father who would happily burn the entire world to the ground to keep his child safe.

He slowly pulled back just an inch, looking directly, deeply into Lily's bright, tear-filled eyes.

"You never kneel for them again," Arthur stated firmly, his deep, protective voice carrying an absolute, unbreakable, and eternal vow that she was completely safe forever.

He stood up from the soapy, wet marble floor, effortlessly carrying his daughter entirely in his strong arms. Surrounded by his massive, loyal bodyguards, Arthur turned his back on the shattered wood and the cold foyer. He carried Lily away from the darkness, walking directly into the bright, warm sunlight of their reclaimed lives, completely restoring the kingdom to its rightful, beautiful heir.
