Chapter 4 - The Iron Resolve

Arthur did not die in the brutal, violent maximum-security federal prison. The horrific environment did not break his mind, nor did it shatter his incredible, unbreakable paternal spirit.

Instead, the five agonizing years of unjust incarceration completely forged him into a hardened, highly disciplined, and absolutely terrifying force of nature. He spent every single day surviving the violence of the prison yard, physically training his body, and meticulously, obsessively mapping out every single detail of his younger brother's massive betrayal.

He had one single, untouchable anchor that kept him completely sane in the darkness: the memory of his daughter's bright smile, and a heavy, solid gold family signet ring he had managed to hide from the prison guards.

While Arthur was locked in a cage, a small group of his former, fiercely loyal corporate security directors—men who knew Arthur was entirely innocent—worked tirelessly on the outside. They spent years relentlessly hunting down the corrupt accountants, hacking the hidden servers, and completely unraveling Victor and Caroline's massive web of financial lies.

Three days ago, they finally broke the case wide open. They presented undeniable, concrete, and absolute proof of the forgery to a federal judge.

Arthur’s conviction was immediately, entirely overturned. He was completely exonerated, released from his concrete cell with absolutely zero warning to the outside world.

He didn't stop to celebrate. He didn't call the press.

Arthur stepped out of the prison gates, where his massive, heavily armed, and entirely loyal bodyguards were waiting with a fleet of black SUVs. He put on a crisp white button-down shirt and a long, sweeping black overcoat. He slid the heavy gold signet ring back onto his finger.
