Chapter 2 - The Stolen Empire

To completely understand why a beautiful, innocent eight-year-old girl was being treated like a disposable slave inside a multi-million-dollar luxury estate, one had to look back exactly five years to the darkest, most horrific betrayal in the history of the family.

The grand mansion did not actually belong to the Man in the Black Shirt or the blonde Woman in the Beige Suit. It rightfully belonged to Lily’s father, Arthur.

Arthur was a brilliant, incredibly hardworking corporate titan who had built a massive, international shipping empire entirely from scratch. He was a deeply devoted, incredibly loving single father to little Lily after his wife passed away. Arthur had made the fatal, catastrophic mistake of trusting his younger brother, Victor—the Man in Black—and Victor’s highly manipulative, sociopathic wife, Caroline.

Five years ago, completely driven by an insatiable, toxic greed and a deep, burning jealousy of Arthur’s massive success, Victor and Caroline orchestrated an incredibly elaborate, flawlessly executed corporate coup.

They aggressively forged thousands of financial documents, manipulated offshore bank accounts, and completely framed Arthur for massive, international corporate fraud and embezzlement. Because of their highly paid, corrupt lawyers and fabricated evidence, Arthur was entirely stripped of his massive empire, his bank accounts were frozen, and he was unjustly sentenced to a decade in a brutal, highly dangerous maximum-security federal prison.

When Arthur was dragged away in handcuffs, screaming his absolute innocence, Victor and Caroline immediately swooped in.

They legally seized control of the luxury mansion, the corporate board, and, most horrifyingly of all, they were granted full legal guardianship of three-year-old Lily. They completely stole Arthur’s entire life, leaving the brilliant father to rot in a cold, dark concrete cell while they popped expensive champagne in his living room.
