Chapter 10 - Justice Served

My knees actually buckled. I had to grab the edge of the champagne table to stay standing. I burst into tears of pure relief. In a single night, the terrifying threat of poverty and medical debt was completely erased from my family’s life.

The police arrived swiftly. The evidence from the garage cameras, which Luca’s security team had silently recovered from Leo’s hidden files, was absolute and undeniable.

Vanessa was charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy, and kidnapping. Because she was handed over by the Moretti family, she had absolutely no protection in the criminal underworld. She was denied bail and is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

Leo never made it to a courtroom. He faced the syndicate tribunal the very next morning. In the mafia world, killing a loyal, beloved civilian driver was an unforgivable sin. He was stripped of his name, his wealth, and exiled permanently from the country, forced to live in hiding for the rest of his pathetic life.

The estate changed forever after that night.

I took over as Head Estate Manager, ensuring that every single staff member was treated with absolute dignity and respect. I was able to move my mother into a beautiful new home, and my brother received the best physical therapy in the state.

And every year, on the anniversary of Frank’s death, a massive, beautiful bouquet of flowers is delivered to Rosa’s doorstep, fully paid for by a quiet, tattooed boss who never forgot the man who taught him how to drive.

Do you think Leo deserved to be exiled, or should Luca have handed him over to the police with Vanessa?
