Chapter 10 - The Vow of Protection

"You found me, Lorenzo," Clara whispered, her voice thick with forgiveness and profound relief. "That's all that matters now. We're safe."
Lorenzo closed his eyes, leaning into the warmth of her hand. He reached forward and wrapped his massive, tattooed arms around both his wife and his daughter, pulling them into a fierce, unbreakable embrace right there in the driveway. The heavy, agonizing weight of the last year was finally lifted from his shoulders.
In the months that followed, Renata was sentenced to forty years in a maximum-security federal prison, completely abandoned by everyone in the city, left to rot in absolute isolation.
Lorenzo completely purged his inner household staff, personally vetting every single person who worked on the estate. He stepped back from the violent frontlines of his syndicate, ensuring his family's absolute protection above all else.
Clara fully recovered, returning to her rightful place as the matriarch of the estate.
A year later, the grand mansion was filled with warm, bright sunlight. Lorenzo sat on the marble steps, laughing out loud as he watched little Isabella throwing a tennis ball across the manicured lawn for Pino. Clara sat beside him, resting her head on his shoulder, completely at peace.

The nightmare was over, and the ruthless boss finally found a genuine, unshakeable happiness, knowing his family was whole again, all thanks to a brave little girl and a faded stuffed rabbit.
Do you think a forty-year prison sentence was enough justice for Renata, or did the cruel maid deserve a harsher punishment directly from the mafia?
