Chapter 4 - The Traitor's Blackmail

The heavy oak doors of the office clicked shut as Renzo escorted the fearless little girl out of the room.

Vincent walked back to his massive mahogany desk. He didn't sit down in his leather chair. He leaned against the polished wood, staring at the terrified housekeeper kneeling on his Persian rug.

"Stand up, Clara," Vincent ordered, his deep voice surprisingly gentle, completely masking his homicidal fury.

Clara slowly stood up, wiping tears from her pale cheeks.

"How long has Marco been threatening you?" Vincent asked.

"Three months, sir," Clara choked out, her voice cracking with raw fear. "My husband died last year and left me with massive gambling debts. Marco bought the debt from the loan sharks. He told me if I didn't get a job inside your estate and plant bugs in your private office, he would take Mia away and sell her to cover what I owed."

Vincent’s sharp jawline locked so tightly the muscles ticked beneath his stubble.

Marco wasn't just a traitor. He was actively leaking syndicate secrets to a rival cartel, using a defenseless mother as his disposable pawn. Marco wanted Vincent dead so he could take over the New York territory entirely.

"Where is the microphone he gave you?" Vincent asked calmly.

Clara reached into her pocket and pulled out a tiny, magnetic listening device. She handed it to the billionaire boss with a shaking hand.

Vincent looked at the bug. A dark, terrifying, incredibly brilliant plan formed in his mind. He wasn't going to just kill Marco. He was going to completely, utterly destroy him.

"Text him back," Vincent commanded softly, handing the burner phone back to Clara. "Tell him the bug is planted. Tell him to come to the estate tonight to pick up the digital receiver."

👉 Clara sent the message, entirely unaware of the absolute bloodbath the mafia boss was preparing.
