Chapter 5 - The Midnight Trap

At exactly midnight, the luxury Castalano estate was completely silent. The heavy rain pounded against the massive windows overlooking the glittering New York skyline.

Marco arrived at the estate in a sleek black SUV. He wore an expensive gray suit, an arrogant, toxic smirk plastered across his face. He believed he had completely outsmarted the most feared boss in the city. He believed Clara was just a pathetic, helpless maid who had successfully handed him the keys to the empire.

Marco bypassed the main security checkpoint using his Underboss clearance and walked directly toward the dark, empty servant’s quarters.

He found Clara standing nervously at the end of the long marble hallway.

"Give me the receiver," Marco demanded aggressively, his voice dripping with pure, cruel entitlement.

Clara held out a small black digital device. Her hands were shaking.

Marco snatched it from her fingers, a wicked smile spreading across his face. "Good girl. You actually pulled it off. Maybe I'll let you keep the brat after all."

"You promised my debt was clear," Clara whispered, stepping backward.

Marco laughed softly. It was a cold, demonic sound. "Your debt is clear. But your life isn't. You think I'm going to leave a loose end walking around this house once Vincent is assassinated tomorrow morning?"

Marco reached under his gray suit jacket and pulled out a heavy, suppressed tactical pistol. He aimed it directly at Clara’s chest.

"Say goodbye, maid," Marco sneered.

👉 Marco pulled the trigger, completely unaware that he had just stepped into an inescapable nightmare.
