Chapter 1 - The Silver Tray

The grand luxury gala ballroom was an absolute masterpiece of cinematic wealth. Massive crystal chandeliers cast a brilliant, warm glow over rows of elegant dining tables flanked by heavy gold chairs. The ambient sound of high-society chatter, string quartets, and clinking champagne glasses created a symphony of elite privilege.

But the pristine atmosphere was about to be violently shattered.

Walking nervously through the maze of formal guests was a young maid. She wore a classic black and white uniform, her hair tied back with a crisp white headband. Her hands were visibly trembling as she gripped a small, polished silver tray.

Beside her, leaning heavily on the maid's arm for support, was an elderly woman in her late seventies. She wore a modest, slightly frayed dark navy dress with a white collar. Her short white hair was disheveled, and thick tears streamed silently down her deeply wrinkled, bruised face.

The maid gently guided the older woman toward a VIP table at the very front of the ballroom.

Sitting at the head of the table was Arthur, a handsome, heavily muscular man in his late thirties. He wore a sharp black open-collar shirt underneath a tailored black suit jacket. Sitting directly across from him, sipping champagne, was Victoria—an incredibly elegant woman with her dark hair swept into a flawless updo, wearing a breathtaking off-the-shoulder red silk evening gown and massive diamond earrings.

Victoria noticed the maid approaching and let out a soft, mocking sigh.

"Sir," the maid whispered, her voice hesitant and trembling with fear as she stopped at the edge of the table. "There's something you need to see."

👉 Arthur thought the maid was interrupting his dinner for a simple complaint, but the object on the silver tray was about to freeze his blood.
