Chapter 10 - The Unbreakable Bond

Six months later, the nightmare was officially over.
Vanessa and her partner were sentenced to thirty years in a federal penitentiary without the possibility of parole. They lost absolutely everything, their names permanently disgraced, turning on each other during the trial in a pathetic attempt to reduce their sentences.
Ethan completely purged his life of the toxic elite who had introduced him to the con artist. He didn't let the betrayal destroy his heart or his capacity for joy.
Instead, he focused entirely on the one person who truly mattered.
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Ethan sat in the backyard of their private estate, wearing comfortable jeans and a simple t-shirt, completely relaxed. He watched Nora running happily across the green lawn, chasing a new golden retriever puppy he had bought her as a thank-you gift for her bravery.
Nora was safe. She was deeply loved. And she would never have to worry about a monster in her house ever again.

Ethan smiled, taking a deep breath of the fresh, clean air. He had survived a lethal trap, protected his empire, and secured his daughter's future with absolute, flawless justice.
If you were Ethan, would you have confronted Vanessa in private before the wedding, or was destroying her at the altar the ultimate, perfect revenge?
