Chapter 9 - The Cornered Rat

"Don't let him leave!" Eleanor roared, her voice echoing with the terrifying wrath of a billionaire queen who had almost lost her only child.

David spun around, sprinting for the double doors leading to the street. He didn't care about his reputation anymore; he just needed to escape before the police arrived.

He didn't even make it three steps.

The two massive security guards who had opened the coffin lunged forward. With brutal, cinematic efficiency, they tackled David straight to the dark carpet. The young man in the tuxedo hit the ground hard, a sickening crunch echoing as his nose smashed into the floor.

"Get off me! I'm the executor of this estate!" David shrieked, kicking and thrashing wildly.

The guards completely ignored him, violently wrenching his arms behind his back and pinning his face directly into the plush carpet.

Lily stood up, wiping the tears from her face. She walked slowly over to where David was pinned. She looked down at the arrogant, murderous man who had constantly treated her like garbage, who had tried to have her thrown out for saving her employer's life.

"She's not dead, David," Lily said softly, her voice dripping with icy, undeniable victory. "But your life is officially over."
