Chapter 7 - The Desperate Threat
"You think you won?!" Delaney shrieked wildly, violently thrashing her arms as her entire multi-million-dollar identity completely collapsed into dust.
She aggressively pointed her finger at River, her eyes wide with pure, feral desperation.
"My father owns the building inspectors in this city!" Delaney screamed, completely abandoning her high-society persona. "I will have him bury the original blueprints! If you don't sign a non-disclosure agreement right now, I will personally ensure your career is completely destroyed! I will make sure you never design another building again!"
River physically flinched, the terrifying threat momentarily piercing her newfound confidence.
But Nolan didn't even blink. He gently placed his large hand on River's shoulder, instantly anchoring her in absolute safety.
"You aren't touching her career," Nolan whispered coldly, his deep voice carrying the crushing weight of a true titan.
"We own the entire city!" Delaney wailed hysterically, completely humiliated. "We can have her blacklisted in five minutes!"

"Not anymore," Nolan replied flawlessly. "I bought the entire holding company that owns your father's firm exactly two hours ago. I have a dozen of my best men emptying his private safe as we speak. You have absolutely zero leverage, Delaney. You are completely bankrupt, and you are completely trapped."
