Chapter 7 - The True Loyalty

"Please, Alessandro! Have mercy!" Victoria sobbed frantically, crawling toward his polished shoes.
"Take her to the basement," Alessandro commanded his enforcers.
Victoria let out a horrific, apocalyptic shriek of pure, unadulterated terror as three massive guards violently grabbed her arms and hauled her forcefully to her feet. Handing her over to the basement meant she was going to face a slow, agonizing brand of underworld justice that she would never survive.
The wealthy guests watched in absolute, stunned silence as the cruel, arrogant bride was aggressively dragged backward out of the ballroom, completely humiliated and entirely ruined.
Ten minutes later, the heavy doors opened again.
The burly bodyguard gently escorted Clara back into the ballroom. The young analyst was trembling violently, her navy blue dress slightly wrinkled, fully expecting to be executed.
But Alessandro didn't look at her with rage.
The terrifying mafia boss slowly walked down the aisle, stopping right in front of her. He completely lowered his intimidating guard, looking at the brave, plus-size analyst with profound, undeniable respect.
"I am so sorry I didn't listen to you," Alessandro said softly, his deep voice carrying a genuine, rare warmth. "You risked your life to protect my family's empire when my own bride was robbing me blind."
Clara swallowed hard, her heart finally slowing down. "I just did my job, Mr. Moretti."
"You aren't an analyst anymore, Clara," Alessandro smiled a dark, devastatingly handsome smile. "You are the new Chief Financial Officer of the entire Moretti syndicate. And you have my absolute, unconditional protection for the rest of your life."
Six months later, the dark shadows of betrayal were permanently banished.

Victoria vanished entirely, her stolen millions fully recovered by Clara’s brilliant accounting team. Clara didn't hide in a cubicle anymore. She walked into the towering corporate headquarters wearing stunning, tailored power suits, commanding absolute respect from the most dangerous men in the city, fiercely protected by the boss who valued her unmatched loyalty above all else.
If you were Clara, would you have demanded to watch Victoria being dragged to the basement, or was taking her job and her money the absolute perfect revenge?
