Chapter 6 - The Ultimate Ambush

"You threw me out into the rain without a second thought," Natalie continued, refusing to break eye contact. "You called me a traitor. You told me my life was forfeit. Do you really think I would hand my newborn babies over to a man who trusts his payroll over his own wife?"

Dominic’s jaw clenched so tightly the muscles ticked. The overwhelming guilt was suffocating him. "I was given proof, Natalie. I saw the bank transfers. I heard the recordings."

"Yes," Natalie nodded slowly. "You saw the proof your secretary handed you."

Vanessa let out a sharp, hysterical gasp. "She's lying! Dominic, she's trying to manipulate you! Call the police!"

Natalie reached into her elegant clutch purse. She didn't pull out a weapon. She pulled out a sleek, black encrypted hard drive. She held it up in the warm light of the crystal chandeliers.

"I didn't come here tonight to introduce you to your children, Dominic," Natalie stated, her cinematic realism completely commanding the room. "I came here because this charity gala is hosted by the Vanguard Tech Corporation. The company I built from nothing over the last five years. And my cyber-security team just finished a deep-dive audit on your syndicate’s offshore accounts."

Dominic stared at the hard drive, a cold, lethal realization beginning to dawn in his eyes.

👉 Natalie was about to drop the final piece of the puzzle, and the red dress was going to burn to the ground.
