Chapter 3 - The Revolving Door

Massimo’s immense, deeply rooted pride simply could not handle his newfound physical vulnerability.

When he was finally discharged from the private hospital and moved back into his heavily fortified luxury penthouse, he was prescribed an incredibly rigorous, painful, and absolutely necessary daily regimen of intense neurological physical therapy. His doctors warned him that if he didn't immediately begin working to maintain his remaining muscle mass and stimulate his damaged nerves, his condition would permanently, irreversibly deteriorate.

But Massimo absolutely refused to participate.

He viewed physical therapy as a pathetic, humiliating admission of weakness. Whenever a new, highly trained physical therapist walked into his luxury penthouse, Massimo intentionally unleashed a terrifying, psychological, and verbal reign of terror upon them.

He was incredibly hostile, verbally abusive, and violently aggressive when anyone attempted to help him with his personal care. He threw hot coffee at a senior nurse. He shattered a mirror when a male orderly tried to lift him into bed. He roared terrifying mafia threats at anyone who dared to pity him.

In less than a single month, Massimo had aggressively fired, terrified, and completely driven away twelve of the absolute best, top-tier neurological rehabilitation specialists in the entire state of Massachusetts.

His loyal right-hand man and closest advisor, a seasoned mobster named Luca, was completely desperate. Luca knew that if Massimo didn't start fighting back, the boss would completely rot away in his wheelchair, leaving the syndicate entirely vulnerable to a hostile, bloody takeover.

Running out of options and desperate for a miracle, Luca contacted a private, highly exclusive medical agency and requested their most stubborn, completely unshakeable specialist.
