Chapter 7 - The Burner Phone

Medium close-up: Moving with slow, deliberate, and terrifying precision, Daniel gently placed Emma's blood-stained hand back onto the crisp white hospital sheets.

He slowly stood up from the bedside. As he straightened his cream-colored tailored suit jacket, his tall, broad frame seemed to instantly expand, completely towering over the medical equipment and casting a dark, heavy shadow across the brightly lit room.

He didn't scream at the boys. He didn't rush forward to throw a punch. He possessed the absolute, terrifying composure of an executioner preparing to drop the blade.

Daniel reached his hand deep into the inner breast pocket of his suit jacket. He didn't pull out a modern smartphone. He pulled out a thick, heavy, outdated black burner phone—a highly encrypted, untraceable device he hadn't turned on in three entire years.

He flipped the phone open. His thumb pressed a single, programmed speed-dial button.

Daniel didn't look at the screen. His cold, dead eyes locked entirely onto the three laughing bullies standing at the foot of the bed, staring at them with a terrifying, absolute deadliness that made the temperature in the room plummet.

The line connected instantly.

"Activate the network," Daniel whispered into the phone. His voice was an icy, chilling calm that vibrated with the promise of absolute, world-ending destruction.
