Chapter 9 - The Cleanup

Marco realized it was completely over. The boss knew everything.
With a desperate, animalistic snarl, Marco raised his gun, aiming directly at Vincent’s chest. "Sorry, Boss. Nothing personal."
But Vincent was a survivor of a hundred wars. Before Marco could even pull the trigger, Vincent moved with terrifying, blinding speed. He grabbed Marco’s wrist, twisting it violently until a sickening snap echoed through the hall.
Marco screamed in agony, dropping the gun. Vincent kicked the back of his lieutenant's knees, sending the massive man crashing to the floor. Vincent pressed the heel of his expensive leather shoe firmly against Marco’s throat, pinning him down.
"You stole from a starving mother," Vincent whispered, his eyes burning with lethal disgust. "You sold my secrets to the Moretti family. You brought dishonor into my home."
Silvia dropped to her knees, openly sobbing, crawling toward Vincent. "Please, Mr. Torino! It was his idea! He forced me! I'll give all the money back!"
Vincent didn't even look at her. He gestured to the two security guards who had been standing frozen in shock.
"Take this trash to the basement," Vincent ordered coldly. "Call the cleaners. Tell them I have two packages that need to be delivered to the bottom of the river."
The guards aggressively grabbed Marco and Silvia, dragging them away. Their terrified, hysterical screams echoed off the marble walls until the heavy basement doors slammed shut. Silence finally returned to the estate.
Vincent picked up his own gun from his holster and tucked it away. He turned back to the floor.
Carmen was still on her knees, clutching her daughter, entirely traumatized by the violence she had just witnessed. She thought she was next.
