Chapter 7 - The Rescue

Wesley shrieked, throwing his arms up to protect his face from the raining glass.
Stepping through the shattered wall was not a security guard. It was Leandro Vitali.
The towering mafia boss wore a long, dark wool coat, his scarred face twisted into a mask of pure, absolute, demonic rage. He didn't even draw a weapon. He moved with blinding, terrifying speed.
Before Wesley could lower his arms, Leandro lunged forward. His massive, heavily tattooed hand clamped directly onto Wesley’s throat. With a sickening, violent motion, Leandro slammed the arrogant billionaire backward into the filing cabinets.
Wesley’s gun clattered uselessly onto the carpet.
"You really thought you could use my company to launder cartel money?" Leandro whispered directly into Wesley’s ear, completely deaf to the man's pathetic, choking gasps.
"Leandro!" I cried out, terrified the boss was going to snap his neck right in front of me.
Leandro didn't kill him. He violently threw the suffocating, weeping coward onto the floor. Four of Leandro’s massive, heavily armed syndicate enforcers stepped through the shattered glass, instantly grabbing Wesley and hauling him to his feet.
"Take him to the old warehouse," Leandro commanded his men coldly, devoid of any human mercy. "Seize all the Harkort offshore accounts. Drain them. Then hand him and his father over to the Chicago cartel. Let them handle the thieves."
"No! Please!" Wesley wailed, thrashing wildly as the guards dragged him away.
The threat was completely, permanently neutralized.
