Chapter 2 - The Son Returns

The cinematic tension in the grand marble hallway completely shattered when a deep, furious voice echoed from the shadows near the front door.

"Father."

Victoria physically violently flinched. She spun around, her high heels scraping against the marble.

Standing entirely still in the background was Julian. He was Mr. Sterling's thirty-eight-year-old son, the billionaire CEO of the family's international logistics empire. Julian was a towering, handsome man with shoulder-length dark hair and intimidating neck tattoos, wearing an all-black suit that projected absolute, lethal danger.

Julian wasn't supposed to be home for another three weeks. He had been away on a massive corporate acquisition in Europe. Victoria had specifically chosen this timeframe to execute her wicked plan.

Julian’s face was a mask of sheer, unadulterated fury. His dark eyes darted from the weak, starving man in the wheelchair to the bowl of soup in my hand, and finally rested entirely on the monster in the black suit.

Victoria completely panicked. She plastered a fake, welcoming smile across her perfectly contoured face.

"Julian! Oh my goodness, darling, you're home early!" Victoria stammered nervously, taking a step toward him. "Why didn't you call? I would have had the chef prepare a feast for you!"

Julian aggressively stepped forward, completely bypassing her fake pleasantries. The heavy thud of his polished shoes against the marble floor echoed like a death knell.

He didn't yell. The terrifying calm of his demeanor was a thousand times more dangerous than an explosion.

👉 Julian leaned in close, and the horrifying secret Victoria had been hiding was about to be dragged into the light.
