Chapter 10 - The Grandfather's Legacy

With Vince locked away and facing decades in federal prison, the dark cloud over Walter’s estate finally lifted.

The bikers immediately got to work. They picked up the boxes of Walter’s belongings, carefully dusting off the photo albums, and carried them respectfully back inside the beautiful home.

Sarah stood on the deck, weeping tears of pure, overwhelming relief. She hugged Mack so tightly she nearly knocked the wind out of the massive biker. “Thank you,” she sobbed. “You gave us our lives back. How can I ever repay you?”

Mack gently patted her back. “You don't owe me a thing, Sarah. Walter paid my tab a long time ago.”

Mack walked over to little Eli, who was standing by the black truck, clutching the red metal lunchbox.

Mack knelt down on one knee, bringing himself right to the nine-year-old’s eye level. He pointed to the old, torn work gloves resting inside the box.

“Your grandfather was the strongest, bravest man I ever met, Eli,” Mack said, his voice thick with raw emotion. “He asked me to take care of you. And I don't break my promises.”

Eli looked up at the towering, terrifying biker, and for the first time since his grandfather died, he didn't feel afraid. He felt completely safe.

“Does this mean you’re going to be around?” Eli asked, a small smile breaking across his face.

“Yeah, kid,” Mack smiled, a genuine, warm expression that lit up his scarred face. “Me and fifty of your new uncles are going to be right here whenever you need us.”

Eli threw his small arms around Mack’s thick neck, and the massive biker hugged him back, holding the boy tight. Walter Turner’s legacy was finally safe, protected by a brotherhood that would never let his family fall again.

Do you think Vince got the punishment he deserved, or did the bikers let him off too easy?
