Chapter 9 - The Fall of the Traitor

Vince scrambled backward like a pathetic, terrified rat, holding his broken wrist.
“Please! Please!” Vince sobbed hysterically, completely losing his arrogant tough-guy act. “I’ll leave! I’ll give it all back! Just let me walk away! You can have the house!”
“It was never yours to give,” Mack rumbled.
Mack grabbed Vince by the collar of his expensive shirt and effortlessly lifted the grown man off the ground. With one brutal, cinematic throw, Mack tossed Vince directly off the wooden deck.
Vince crashed into the dirt yard, landing right at the feet of the fifty bikers.
“Teach him some manners,” Mack ordered coldly.
The bikers didn't use weapons. They didn't need to. They simply swarmed the abusive stepfather, delivering a ruthless, completely justified barrage of kicks and punches. Every single blow was payback for the bruise on Sarah’s face and the tears in Eli’s eyes. Vince screamed and begged, but the roar of the bikers drowned him out entirely.
When they finally stepped back, Vince was a bruised, whimpering mess, curled into a pathetic ball in the mud.
Suddenly, the wail of police sirens pierced the morning air.
Mack had called his inside contacts at the state police on the way over. Three squad cars violently skidded into the driveway. The officers, who had long respected Mack’s crew for keeping the real criminals out of their town, took one look at the forged documents and the bruised mother.
They hauled Vince up by his collar and violently slammed him against the hood of the cruiser, snapping cold steel handcuffs around his wrists.
“Vince Carter, you’re under arrest for grand larceny, forgery, and domestic assault,” the officer barked.
