Chapter 3 - The Night of the Attack

To understand the absolute insanity of Ryan and Morgan’s arrogance, one had to look at the blood-soaked reality of the previous night.
Elise wasn't supposed to be home early from her business trip. But when her flight was canceled, she walked quietly into her own suburban house and caught Ryan and Morgan in her living room. She didn't just catch them in an affair; she found them actively packing up her expensive jewelry, electronics, and the cash from her personal safe.
They were robbing her blind to fund their new life together.
When Elise pulled out her phone to call the police, Ryan didn't just panic. He turned into a violent monster.
He grabbed a heavy metal fireplace poker. He swung it with absolute, terrifying brutality, shattering Elise’s arm as she raised it to protect her head. The second blow clipped her cheek, sending her crashing to the hardwood floor.
Morgan hadn't stopped him. She had just stood there in her red dress, watching Elise bleed, completely unbothered.
Ryan left his wife unconscious on the floor. He wiped the metal bar clean, threw it into the trunk of his car, and called 911 three hours later, playing the role of the hysterical husband who had just come home to find his wife at the bottom of the stairs.
