Chapter 7 - The Termination

"What do you mean, money I don't have?" Julian demanded, his voice cracking into a pathetic, breathless squeal. "I am the CEO of a billion-dollar tech company! I make ten times what you will ever make!"
Claire held her smartphone up, tapping the screen once to display an incoming forwarded email.
"And I just fired your son as CEO," Claire stated.
The words echoed off the high ceilings of the courthouse, completely paralyzing the three toxic monsters standing by the wooden doors.
Julian’s eyes widened in sheer, unadulterated terror. The arrogant, confident smile he had worn for the entire divorce hearing completely shattered. He snatched his own cell phone from his pocket with trembling hands, staring at the barrage of urgent emails and missed calls from the corporate board of directors flooding his screen.
Lila looked sharply toward Julian. The twenty-eight-year-old mistress wasn't in love with him; she was in love with his bank account. Seeing the absolute panic melting his face, she stepped entirely away from him, creating a massive physical distance.
"Fired?!" Vivian shrieked hysterically, lunging forward. "You can't fire him! He is the founder! He is the majority shareholder!"

"He is the face," Claire corrected ruthlessly. "I am the founder. I wrote the code. And I control fifty-one percent of the voting shares through the proxy trusts you were too arrogant to ever read during our marriage."
👉 Julian looked up from his vibrating phone, finally realizing the prenuptial agreement he weaponized had just ruined his own life.
