Chapter 6 - The Board Meeting

The next morning, the sun broke through the clouds, casting brilliant, blinding light through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the city’s most prestigious corporate skyscraper.

The elite boardroom was entirely silent, filled with twelve of the most powerful corporate directors in the country. They all sat in their high-backed leather chairs, their faces grim and serious.

At the head of the massive mahogany table sat Richard. He looked like the picture-perfect corporate king. He wore a brand-new, ten-thousand-dollar tailored navy suit, his hair perfectly slicked back. Sitting entirely inappropriately in the chair right next to him was Chloe, wearing a tight designer dress and the stolen wedding ring, playing the role of the new lady of the empire.

"Gentlemen," Richard began, his voice dripping with arrogant, overwhelming confidence. "The transition period is officially over. My predecessor is gone. The stocks are stable. All that remains is for you to sign the final authorization papers, officially naming me the absolute CEO and majority shareholder of this corporation."

He reached into his pocket, pulling out a heavy, solid gold fountain pen. He laid the thick, leather-bound contract in the center of the table, his eyes gleaming with greedy anticipation.

Several board members exchanged nervous, highly uncomfortable glances, but none of them spoke. Richard smiled. He had won.

"If there are no objections," Richard said smoothly, uncapping his gold pen. "Let's make history."

👉 Richard pressed his gold pen to the signature line, but the heavy glass boardroom doors were about to be violently kicked open.
