Chapter 7 - The Queen Enters
BANG.
The heavy, frosted glass doors of the boardroom violently slammed open, crashing against the walls with a sound like a bomb going off.
Richard jolted in his seat, dropping his gold pen. He furiously spun around, ready to immediately fire whichever idiot security guard had interrupted his crowning moment. "What the hell is the meaning of—"
The words died in his throat. His blood turned entirely to ice.
Walking slowly and powerfully into the elite boardroom was Elena.
But this was not the shivering, sobbing, pathetic girl he had left to die in the freezing rain twelve hours ago. Elena looked absolutely breathtaking. She wore a stunning, custom-fitted white power suit that perfectly accommodated her pregnancy. Her hair was flawlessly styled, and her face was a mask of cold, unbreakable, and terrifying authority.
Flanking her on her left were three of the most feared corporate litigators in the country. And standing on her right, radiating a dark, lethal energy that made every single board member instantly stand up in profound respect, was Arthur Sterling.
Richard’s brain completely short-circuited. He looked at the woman he had abused, then at the billionaire titan standing protectively by her side.
"Elena?" Richard stammered, his arrogant composure instantly evaporating into sheer, unadulterated panic. "What... what are you doing here? Who let you in the building?!"
Chloe scoffed loudly, standing up and pointing her stolen ring at the door. "Security! Get this crazy woman out of here right now!"

None of the board members moved. The security guards standing in the hallway didn't flinch.
