Chapter 2 - The Stolen Inheritance

The cinematic realism of the terrifying, heavy tension completely electrified the grand ballroom.
To understand the absolute, unhinged cruelty of Richard’s public attack, one had to look at the massive corporate empire currently funding his lavish engagement party. Emily and Richard’s father had passed away exactly three months ago. He was the legendary founder of a multi-billion-dollar real estate dynasty.
Richard, as the arrogant eldest son, had immediately seized control of the CEO position. He completely locked Emily out of the corporate offices, froze her personal bank accounts, and explicitly refused to let her see the official family will.
Emily had come to the engagement party tonight to quietly beg her brother for enough money to pay for their mother's expensive, life-saving medical treatments.
But Vanessa, the vicious, gold-digging fiancée, had intentionally spilled red wine on her own sequin dress and loudly screamed that Emily had attacked her out of jealousy. Richard didn't even ask for an explanation. He just violently slapped his sister to defend his toxic bride.
A tight close-up captured Emily’s face. She didn't scream. She didn't drop to her knees and beg for mercy.
The tears welling in her eyes completely stopped falling. Her natural micro-expressions shifted violently from heartbroken sister to a cold, untouchable apex predator. She straightened her posture, the champagne-colored gown swishing against the marble floor.
