Chapter 8 - The Federal Ambush
"Get down on the ground!"
The heavy mahogany doors of the grand ballroom violently burst open. A dozen heavily armed federal agents, flanked by the estate's own elite security team, marched directly into the room. They completely ignored the screaming, panicked wealthy guests and walked straight up to the furious brother.
The two corporate security guards who had tried to grab Emily earlier instantly turned on Richard, aggressively grabbing his arms and violently forcing him face-down onto the cold marble floor.
"Richard Vance," the lead federal agent barked loudly, stepping over the dropped diamond necklace. "You are under arrest for massive corporate fraud, federal embezzlement, and criminal extortion."
Richard screamed and cried in total, undeniable disgrace as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around his wrists. The cold, brutal reality of federal prison completely destroyed his arrogant pride.
Vanessa frantically tried to sneak out the back doors of the ballroom, desperately trying to save herself.
"Arrest her too," Emily stated clinically, pointing directly at the fleeing blonde woman. "She’s wearing stolen corporate assets."

Two federal agents sprinted across the room, aggressively tackling the vicious fiancée before she could escape. Vanessa shrieked hysterically, her red sequin dress tearing as she was forcefully handcuffed and dragged backward across the marble floor.
