Chapter 5 - The Corporate Execution

"Julian, please! It's a mistake!" Sterling wailed, his charismatic salesman persona completely destroyed. He threw his hands up in a desperate, frantic gesture, sweat actively beading on his forehead. "Eleanor is having a mental breakdown! She's obsessed with the company!"
Eleanor didn't scream. She didn't cry.
She took a slow, deliberate step forward, her wet heels clicking sharply against the polished hardwood floor. The icy, unreadable mask completely dropped, violently replaced by a quiet, calculating, and absolutely demonic strength.
"I'm not having a breakdown, Sterling," Eleanor stated smoothly, her voice completely devoid of human mercy.
She reached into the small, waterproof clutch she had protected from the rain. She pulled out a heavy, legally notarized red folder.
"You see, Julian," Eleanor announced clearly, looking directly at the billionaire investor. "My husband spent the last two years illegally transferring corporate funds to buy his mistress sapphire rings. He thought he successfully forged my signature to remove me from the executive board."
Sterling physically collapsed backward against a luxury sofa, his chest heaving with absolute, apocalyptic panic.
"But he didn't realize that my original patent clause is federally protected," Eleanor continued flawlessly, dropping the red folder directly onto a glass coffee table. "If a majority shareholder commits grand larceny against the company, their shares instantly, automatically revert to the original founder."
Harper let out a horrific, high-pitched gasp of pure terror, violently ripping her hand away from Sterling.
