Chapter 7 - The Empire Reclaimed

The agents forcefully hauled Sterling and Harper to their feet.

A tight close-up captured Eleanor. She didn't look like a soaked, humiliated assistant anymore. She radiated the crushing, undeniable, and absolute authority of an apex predator. She locked eyes with her weeping, terrified husband one last time.

A subtle, victorious smirk formed perfectly on her face.

"Good evening, Julian," Eleanor whispered quietly, completely ignoring the screaming monsters being dragged out of her house.

The chaotic, toxic energy was entirely dragged out of the grand mansion. Sterling and Harper were officially sentenced to twenty years in a federal penitentiary. Without his stolen money, Sterling became entirely invisible, forced to rot in a concrete cell while Harper blamed him for completely ruining her life.

Eleanor completely transformed.

She didn't hide in the shadows of a broken marriage. The next morning, she walked directly into her massive, glass-walled corporate headquarters wearing a stunning, tailored power suit, completely dry and absolutely untouchable.

Julian didn't sign a buyout contract. Instead, he signed a massive, equal partnership with Eleanor, flooding her company with billions in legitimate capital.

She stood at the head of her mahogany boardroom table, commanding the absolute, undeniable respect of every single executive in her empire. She had survived the absolute worst betrayal imaginable, defeated the monster in her own home, and emerged completely, undeniably victorious.

If you were Eleanor, would you have confronted Sterling privately in the office, or was letting him humiliate himself in front of the billionaire the absolute perfect revenge?
