Chapter 5 - The Refusal

A tight close-up captured Natalie. The devastated, weeping mother completely vanished. In a fraction of a second, her natural micro-expressions shifted from profound grief to cold, calculated, and absolute fury.

She gently shifted her arms, settling them fiercely and protectively around her daughter's wrapped body. She looked directly into her husband's arrogant eyes.

"I'm not signing anything," Natalie stated clinically, her voice echoing flawlessly across the quiet room.

Owen’s face turned violently red. The arrogant corporate titan completely lost his temper. He had entirely expected his vulnerable, grieving wife to instantly cave to his demands.

"You don't have a choice!" Owen roared aggressively, stepping violently toward the side of the hospital bed. He aggressively leaned forward, beginning to point his manicured finger directly in her face to intimidate her into submission.

Natalie didn't flinch. She raised one trembling but incredibly firm hand, actively stopping him in his tracks.

The blonde nurse immediately stepped out of the shadows, moving aggressively right beside the bed to protect the mother.

"Step back from the patient, sir," the nurse commanded firmly, her hand resting on her stethoscope.

👉 Natalie wrapped her fingers around the red call button, entirely ready to detonate a nuclear bomb on her toxic family.
