Chapter 6 - The Ruined Husband
"I wasn't going to hurt her!" Julian wailed hysterically, completely abandoning his strong, masculine persona. He looked like a pathetic, cornered animal. "She was trying to hurt herself! I was trying to stop her!"
"Save it for the judge, you psychotic bastard," the lead agent commanded flawlessly.
Two massive federal agents aggressively lunged forward, violently grabbing Julian by the arms and forcing him face-down onto the kitchen floor. He screamed and cried in total, undeniable disgrace as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around his wrists, completely stripping him of his fake wealth, his arrogant pride, and his freedom.
Another agent gently helped Morgan to her feet. The terrified wife was shaking violently in her light blue pajamas, tears streaming down her face as the suffocating nightmare of the last month finally, permanently ended.
"We've been investigating his massive corporate embezzlement for six months, ma'am," the lead agent explained softly to Morgan. "When the medical examiner called us about the chemical poisoning, we knew he was escalating to murder for the insurance money. You are completely safe now."
Julian sobbed pathetically on the floor, his expensive button-down shirt completely ruined.
