Chapter 8 - The Cornered Black Widow

The grand luxury foyer was entirely stripped of its elegance, replaced by the chaotic, desperate sobbing of the cornered black widow.

Vanessa crawled across the polished marble floor in her ruined burgundy silk dress, entirely abandoning her arrogant pride. She reached out, desperately grabbing the hem of Marcus's tailored navy trousers.

"Marcus, please!" Vanessa wept wildly, her perfectly styled blonde hair falling in a mess around her tear-stained face. "I love you! I wasn't trying to hurt you! It was just a supplement! My parents are bankrupt, they forced me to do it so we could get the inheritance early! Please, don't let them take me!"

Marcus looked down at the woman he had almost married. His facial micro-expressions projected nothing but pure, unadulterated disgust.

He effortlessly kicked his leg back, breaking her pathetic grip on his trousers.

"You aren't a victim, Vanessa," Marcus stated clinically, his voice echoing off the crystal chandeliers. "You are a monster. And you are going to spend the rest of your pathetic life in a concrete cell."

Within exactly three minutes, the heavy mahogany doors were unlocked from the outside by Marcus's private security team. They marched into the foyer, aggressively grabbing the screaming, weeping fiancée by the arms and dragging her away from the billionaire, pinning her against the wall as they waited for the police to arrive.

Marcus didn't give her another second of his attention. He crouched back down next to Dorothy, pulling a clean white handkerchief from his pocket and gently wrapping it around her bleeding hand.

👉 The authorities arrived with a toxicology team, preparing to seal Vanessa's absolute doom with undeniable forensic proof.
