Chapter 6 - The True Celebration

The heavy doors of the ballroom slammed shut, completely cutting off the hysterical screams of Margot and Camille.
Landon and Frank walked out into the cool, quiet night air of the city. The tension finally left Landon’s broad shoulders. He let out a long, heavy breath, loosening his black bowtie.
"I'm sorry, Dad," Landon whispered, his voice thick with guilt. "I shouldn't have put you through that. I was an idiot."
Frank smiled warmly, placing his rough, calloused hand on his son's shoulder.
"You didn't put me through anything, son," Frank said gently. "You stood up for me. That's the greatest gift a father could ever ask for. And honestly... I'm glad we're out of there. The food smelled terrible."
Landon let out a genuine, loud laugh, the heavy heartbreak melting away in the warmth of his father’s humor.
In the months that followed, Camille’s family completely imploded. Stripped of the Vanguard contract, Richard’s firm filed for bankruptcy. Margot was forced to sell her beloved red gowns and diamonds to pay off their massive debts. Camille tried desperately to reach out to Landon, but her calls were entirely blocked by his security team.
Landon moved his father into a massive, sprawling countryside estate, ensuring Frank never had to work another grueling day in his life.
A year later, Landon sat in a small, quiet, authentic Italian restaurant, eating dinner with his father and a beautiful, kind-hearted kindergarten teacher he had met at a local charity event. She didn't know he was a billionaire, and she treated Frank like absolute royalty.

Landon smiled, realizing that walking out of that toxic ballroom was the best decision he had ever made. He had lost a fake bride, but he had protected his father, and in the process, found a woman who truly understood the value of a heart over a bank account.
Do you think Landon’s financial revenge on his father-in-law was justified, or should he have just walked away quietly?
