Julian’s public apology came too soon.
I told him not to.
He did anyway.
Statement:
I failed Elena.
Not bad.
Then media turned it into redemption.
I hated that.
He became the remorseful ex-husband.
I remained the wine-stained woman with a baby.
Narratives simplify men faster than women.
So I spoke once.
“Julian was manipulated. He also made choices that hurt me. Both can be true.”
That line became the real story.
Julian thanked me.
I said:
“Do not.”
He understood.
Then he did something useful.
He surrendered executive authority temporarily.
Why?
Conflict of interest.
Trust dispute.
Emotional instability after scandal.
Not shameful.
Responsible.
Independent directors took over.
That protected employees and shareholders.
Unlike Gordon, Julian began separating personal crisis from institutional control.
Maybe he learned.
Then the paternity order became formal.
Julian recognized Lily legally.
Child support established.
Custody structured gradually.
No instant father fantasy.
Supervised introductions at first because Lily was tiny and Julian was still emotionally volatile.
He accepted it.
That mattered.
Then he asked:
“Is there any chance for us?”
I answered:
“No.”
He cried.

I did not.
