Chapter 14 - Luciano Cancelled the Wedding Before He Rebuilt Anything Else

The wedding did not happen.
There was no dramatic altar abandonment.
Luciano canceled it that night.
Vendors were paid.
Guests were informed there had been a serious family matter.
No public humiliation campaign.
No social-media spectacle.
Celina lost access to the estate.
The Moretti clan necklace returned to the family vault after its clasp was repaired.
She was never allowed to wear it again.
Civil and criminal issues surrounding the forged documents proceeded separately.
The lawyers handled that.
Luciano focused on Ellie.
Then Grace.
Not reconciliation.
Not romance.
There was too much history.
Too much manipulation.
Too many years lost.
Instead they began co-parenting under professional guidance.
Slow visits.
Then afternoons.
Then weekends.
Grace never demanded the title of full-time mother overnight.
She said:
“I missed five years. I don’t get to make Ellie carry my urgency.”
Luciano respected that.
Eventually, Ellie began calling her Mommy Grace.
Then sometimes just Mommy.
No one corrected her either way.
The broken rabbit remained unrepaired for almost a year.
Then one afternoon Ellie brought it to Grace.
“Can you fix him now?”
Grace looked at Luciano first.
He shook his head.
“Her choice.”
Grace stitched the rabbit carefully.
She did not hide the old tear.
She used pale-blue thread so the seam remained visible.
Ellie loved it.
“Why blue?”
“So we remember where he was hurt,” Grace said.
Ellie nodded.
“And that he got fixed.”
Exactly.
Not erased.
May you like
Repaired.
