Chapter 7 - The Archive Box Had Been Untouched Since Natalie’s Death
Westbridge still existed.
Their records were meticulous.
Natalie had rented the box personally.
Bianca was initially listed as a secondary contact while the two women were business partners.
But after their falling-out, Natalie removed Bianca’s authorization.
Bianca attempted access twice afterward.
Both requests were denied.
Once in 2014.
Again four months after Natalie died.
That second attempt changed everything.
Bianca already knew Natalie was dead.
She contacted the archive claiming she needed “shared company documents.”
The facility refused because she was no longer authorized.
Then she disappeared from their records.
Six months later, she met me.
The timeline was too precise to ignore.
My attorney helped establish my authority as Natalie’s surviving spouse and executor of remaining personal materials.
We opened the box with an archive manager present.
Inside were old corporate ledgers.
Bank records.
Vendor correspondence.
The original settlement.
And one sealed letter.
On the outside Natalie had written:
For Caleb, if Bianca ever enters our lives.
I could barely hold it.
Natalie had written my name on that envelope before she died.
Which meant she had known something I didn’t.
Something about Bianca.
