Chapter 9 - Brielle Finally Learned What Martin’s Bow Meant

Brielle asked:
“Why did Martin bow to you?”
I almost smiled.
“That’s the thing bothering you?”
“I’ve never seen him do that.”
“He does it after major operations meetings and certain events.”
“Why?”
“Because he’s old-fashioned.”
Martin, standing nearby, said:
“I heard that.”
Good.
Ethan asked:
“Who actually owns this place?”
Interesting.
There was the real hierarchy question.
I said:
“The building is owned by Arden House Properties.”
“Private investors.”
“Morrow has the exclusive operating and hospitality-management contract.”
Brielle looked at:
me.
“You run the venue?”
“Yes.”
“How much of Morrow do you own?”
“Sixty-one percent.”
She blinked.
Apparently that number mattered.
Then:
“Since when?”
“Since always.”
“No, I mean—”
“I founded it.”
“You know that.”
“I thought you had partners.”
“I do.”
“I thought Martin—”
“What?”
She stopped.
Thought he owned:
it?
Because silver hair and formal suit looked like:
authority?
While her brunette sister carrying plates looked like:
labor?
I understood.
So did:
she.
For once, I did not rescue her from:
May you like
the conclusion.
