Chapter 3 - The Ghost of the Past
To fully comprehend why the most dangerous Mafia Boss in New York was standing completely paralyzed in the middle of his own engagement party, one had to look back exactly six years to the darkest, bloodiest night of Alexander’s entire life.
Six years ago, before he had fully consolidated his terrifying grip on the city's criminal underworld, Alexander was violently ambushed by a heavily armed rival syndicate in a dark, secluded warehouse. He was completely outgunned and surrounded. He would have died on that cold concrete floor if not for his personal bodyguard and closest mentor—a legendary, highly lethal enforcer simply known in the underworld as "The Ghost."
The Ghost was a master of a highly specific, uniquely modified close-quarters combat style, blending lethal military strikes with an impenetrable, immovable defensive stance.
During the ambush, The Ghost used his own body as a human shield, taking three fatal bullets to the chest to ensure Alexander could escape and live to rebuild the empire. As he bled out in Alexander’s arms, the legendary enforcer begged Alexander to find and protect his only daughter, who was hidden away in another state.
Alexander survived, slaughtered his enemies, and took the throne. For six years, he had utilized every single resource at his immense disposal to track down the daughter of the man who saved his life, desperate to repay the ultimate blood debt. But the girl had completely vanished, erasing her digital footprint to hide from her father's enemies.
Alexander carried that heavy, agonizing guilt with him every single day. He had trained under The Ghost for years. He knew every single nuance, every angle, and every specific physical movement of that unique fighting style.
