Chapter 6 - The Broken Disguise

Medium shot: Sophia immediately released her iron grip on Victoria's ankle.
Victoria stumbled backward awkwardly, her arms flailing wildly as she nearly fell backward in her expensive light blue evening gown, her face flushed red with absolute, furious humiliation.
Sophia didn't gloat. She didn't hold her flawless combat stance. In the blink of an eye, the lethal warrior completely vanished, replaced once again by the submissive, invisible servant. She stood up perfectly straight, instantly lowering her eyes to the checkered marble floor to completely hide the razor-sharp, calculating intelligence burning in her gaze.
She returned her hands respectfully to her sides, perfectly adopting the posture of a humble, terrified employee who had just made a terrible mistake.
"I'm sorry," Sophia said softly and calmly, keeping her voice devoid of any emotion, hoping the brief flash of her physical skills would be dismissed as a lucky, panicked reflex by the drunken guests.
She took a slow step backward, fully intending to disappear into the service corridors before the situation escalated any further. She thought her secret was entirely safe. She thought she had successfully maintained her deep cover.
