Chapter 7 - The Interrogation

Close-up: Alexander strode forward quickly, his heavy, polished shoes echoing sharply against the black-and-white checkered marble floor.

The surrounding guests parted instantly, completely terrified by the sudden, aggressive movement of the notorious syndicate leader. Victoria, catching her balance, turned toward him, fully expecting her powerful fiancé to execute the maid on the spot for daring to touch her.

"Alexander, darling, you have to fire her immediately! She attacked me!" Victoria shrieked hysterically, pointing a manicured finger at Sophia.

Alexander completely ignored his screaming fiancée. He didn't even look at Victoria.

The notorious, feared mafia boss's cold, battle-hardened expression drained of all color. He looked paler than a ghost as he stopped just two feet away from Sophia. He stared intensely down at Sophia's hands, his mind racing backward through time, recognizing the undeniable, unique fighting style that had saved his life on a blood-soaked concrete floor six years ago.

It wasn't a coincidence. That specific defensive lock was a closely guarded family secret, taught only by one man.

The heavy, terrifying weight of the criminal underworld seemed to descend upon the room as Alexander looked down at the young woman in the black-and-white maid uniform.

"Who taught you that movement?" Alexander demanded. His deep voice was remarkably quiet, but it was trembling with an immense, suppressed, and overwhelming emotional earthquake that shocked everyone in the room.
