Chapter 8 - The Ghost's Daughter

Medium close-up: The heavy, suffocating silence in the grand ballroom was entirely paralyzing. Every single eye in the room was locked onto the intense standoff between the terrifying mafia boss and the humble maid.

But as she listened to the deep, trembling emotion in Alexander’s voice, she heard the undeniable echo of the man her father had sacrificed everything to protect.
She realized she didn't need to hide in the shadows to get her revenge. The weapon she needed to destroy her enemies was standing right in front of her.

The submissive, fearful, and humble look of the invisible servant was entirely, permanently gone. It was instantly replaced by a fierce, razor-sharp, and absolutely fearless gaze that met the cold eyes of the most dangerous man in New York without a single ounce of hesitation.
A subtle, powerful emotional pause hung heavily in the air as the two warriors recognized each other across the chasm of time and grief.
