Chapter 10 - The True Empire

In the months that followed, Dominic kept his absolute promise. He completely dismantled Vanessa’s rival cartel when they attempted to retaliate, fiercely securing his empire and building an impenetrable fortress of legitimate security around his new family.
He didn't let Claire wear a maid's uniform for another second.
A year later, the grand luxury dining room was a completely different place.
The bright, beautiful sunshine poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating a house finally filled with absolute peace. The wealthy, judgmental guests were permanently gone.
Claire stood near the large windows, wearing a relaxed, elegant summer dress. She looked incredibly radiant, radiating absolute health, power, and undeniable joy. She wasn't isolated, and she wasn't hiding.
She smiled warmly, looking at the center of the room.
Dominic wasn't wearing a sharp black suit. He was wearing a simple grey sweater, laughing loudly as he sat on the carpeted floor.
Sitting right next to him was little Noah, holding a brand new, beautifully carved wooden horse. Dominic was carefully showing his son how to build a massive wooden castle, completely focused on being the father he was always meant to be.

Claire smiled, her heart swelling with an overwhelming, unshakeable peace. The nightmare was completely over, proving that true power isn't found in ruling a violent underworld—it is found in having the incredible, fearless courage to completely destroy the monsters who try to keep you in the dark.
Do you think getting thrown out and destroying her father's cartel was enough justice for Vanessa, or did the cruel fiancée deserve a harsher punishment for hiding the child?
